The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has charged sixty-one year old David Delaurentis with Reckless Burning and Criminal Mischief in connection to a fire that occurred overnight in the Fairfax Shopping Center off Concord Pike.

The Talleyville Fire Company was notified of a fire in the rear of the Fairfax Shopping Center at approximately 9:00 Am this morning. Upon arrival the Fire Department found a small fire in the rear of the building and notified The State Fire Marshal’s Office of the incident.

Deputy Fire Marshal’s responded to the scene and determined the fire to be Arson. Deputy Fire Marshal’s performed a search of the area and apprehended the suspect not far from the scene.

Damage caused by the fire was minimal and there were no injuries.

The suspect was arraigned via video and released on unsecured bail.
