Dover Fire

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that this morning’s fire in Dover was arson.

On October 14, 2025 at 1:30 AM, a fire was reported in the 1700 block of South Taylor Drive. The Camden Wyoming Fire Company, along with mutual aid fire companies, were dispatched to the location. They arrived to find fire coming from the residence. The suspect, identified as Jovan McFarquhar of Dover, was taken into custody by the Delaware State Police at the scene.

Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the origin and cause of the fire. They determined that the fire was intentionally ignited inside the residence and that the suspect was responsible.

The home received an estimated $100,000 in damage and there were no reported injuries.

The suspect was arrested for Arson 2nd Degree and was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was released on $4000 unsecured bail.
