Attorney General Kathy Jennings on Tuesday released the following statement regarding Kili Mayfield’s conviction in Superior Court:

Justice was served today. A man who raped three women, including beating and strangling one victim until she lost consciousness, has been convicted of his crimes. I am proud of the work of our prosecutors, paralegals, and social workers – and grateful for the work of law enforcement and the support of the Criminal Justice Council to crack and bring closure to two cold cases. This was made possible in part by a CJC-grant-funded prosecutor position added to DOJ a few months ago who is specifically working on Sexual Assault Kit Initiative cases. Above all else, our thoughts are with the survivors of these crimes, who have endured unspeakable trauma, who have shown incredible courage and whom we support completely as they heal and move forward.
