On August 1, Delaware residents and visitors along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk will be getting watermelon slices for free as part of an annual event from the Mar-Del Watermelon Association and the Delaware Department of Agriculture.

Starting Saturday, visitors to the Department of Agriculture’s Education Building at the Delaware State Fair can learn how to make omelets, ice cream sundaes, watermelon salsa, home-brewed beer, corn salsa, and peach desserts, among other topics.
