Piping plover pair renests at Gordons Pond

A pair of piping plovers that lost their nest at Gordons Pond in Cape Henlopen State Park has regrouped and nested again within the park, with three eggs observed so far.

A half-mile stretch of beach between the Observation Towers and the Herring Point dune crossover will be closed to the public beginning Monday, June 13, to protect the first piping plover nest of the season at Cape Henlopen State Park’s Gordons Pond.
