Alternative Fuel Vehicle Registration Fee Information

The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has sent out postcards this week to owners of alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) advising them of the implementation of the new AFV registration fee beginning October 1, 2025. DelDOT Toll and Fee Increases Coming Soon to Support Infrastructure Investments

Following the signing of the toll increase resolution by Secretary of Transportation Shanté Hastings and the passage of HB 164 by the Delaware General Assembly, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has begun work to implement the toll increases and new DMV fees. These increases will provide the department with an estimated $107 million annually in additional revenue to support needed investments in infrastructure statewide.




DMV Urges Delawareans to Verify REAL ID Status Before Deadline

Verification is quick and easy. If a gold star is present in the upper right-hand corner of a driver license or ID, it is a REAL ID and federally compliant. Those with a gold star on their credential are not required to take any further action and do not need to bring any additional documentation to a DMV location to renew their driver license or ID.




E-ZPass Text Scam Alert

In response to a recent spike in Short Message Service (SMS) phishing scams referencing E-ZPass, DMV reminds all customers that E-ZPass Delaware will never contact them via text or email to pay a violation or add funds to their E-ZPass Delaware Account.
