2025 State Finalists Announced for White House STEM Recognition

The Delaware Department of Education has named six Delaware teachers as state finalists for the 2025 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the highest recognition that K-12 STEM teachers can receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. Finalists’ applications will now move forward to the national level for final selection of the 2025 PAEMST National Awardees.

$2 Million in Assistance to Help Boost Federal Crop Insurance Selection for Delaware Producers

The Delaware Department of Agriculture (DDA) has officially launched the Delaware Agricultural Production Insurance Assistance Program in coordination with the USDA Risk Management Agency (RMA). This new program reduces premiums for 2025 crop insurance plans for producers who had an eligible plan in 2024. The reduction is equal to 30% of the 2024 total premium with a maximum of $10 per covered acre for multi-peril crop insurance, Whole-Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP), or livestock insurance premium.




Guidance, Resources Address Concerns about Immigration Action in Delaware Public Schools

Delaware Secretary of Education Cindy Marten today launched a website with guidance and resources for educators and families concerned about immigration action in Delaware public schools.




Sponsors and Meal Sites Sought for 2025 Summer Food Service Program

A program that targets children in low-income areas to provide meals during the summer is seeking sponsors and meal sites.   The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally-funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered in the First State by the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE).  Sponsors are reimbursed for all eligible meals served at approved meal sites in eligible areas to children 18 years and under at no cost.
