Sweets and goodies, Earth Day and Colonial games to be featured at Dover, Del.’s John Dickinson Plantation

During the month of April 2014, the John Dickinson Plantation, located at 340 Kitts Hummock Rd. in Dover, Del., will present four special programs that explore different aspects of everyday life as it would have been lived during the 18th century when John Dickinson was in residence at the property.




Delaware’s Dutch heritage, the environment in colonial Delaware and the Lewes Tulip Festival to be featured at Lewes, Del.’s Zwaanendael Museum

During the month of April 2014, the Zwaanendael Museum, located at 102 Kings Highway in Lewes, Del., will present four special programs on Delaware history.




“Delaware and the Underground Railroad Through Poetry” at Dover, Del.’s Old State House

On Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1 p.m., The Old State House, located at 25 The Green in Dover, Del., will present a program of poetry written about the Underground Railroad and slavery in the United States.




Dover, Del.’s Old State House launches coffee-hour lecture series

Beginning on April 3, 2014, The Old State House, located at 25 The Green in Dover, Del., will be offering a new series of history lectures which will be held between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on selected Thursdays in April, 2014.
