DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife announces arrival of 2017/18 Delaware Hunting & Trapping Guide

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife is pleased to announce publication of the 2017/18 Delaware Hunting & Trapping Guide. This year’s cover features the winning photograph in the 2016/17 Hunting Photography Contest, “Couples Retreat” by Bo Wilkinson of Dagsboro. The guide is available now at participating license agents throughout the state, at the Division of Fish & Wildlife’s licensing desk in the Richardson & Robbins Building at 89 Kings Highway in Dover and online at 2017/18 Delaware Hunting & Trapping Guide.




Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: June 5-June 11

To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between June 5-11 made 2,032 contacts with anglers, boaters and the general public, including 200 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks, issuing 44 citations. Officers responded to 46 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public.




Camping growing in popularity at DNREC’s Delaware State Parks

Statistics show camping is gaining in popularity at DNREC’s five state park campgrounds. So far in 2017, 5,658 visitors have camped for 2,391 nights in Delaware’s five campground parks and Indian River Marina Cottages, an increase of 7 percent in camping nights over 2016. In addition, reservations in 2017 have been booked up to a year in advance.




‘Take a Kid Fishing!’ upcoming dates announced by DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife

Do you know a child or young teen who might enjoy learning about fishing and delight in having the opportunity to catch a fish? DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife invites budding anglers age 6 through 15 to come out and learn to fish with a parent/guardian on three upcoming “Take a Kid Fishing!” dates.




DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police announce results from 31st Annual Youth Fishing Tournament

The 31st Annual Youth Fishing Tournament drew 155 young anglers and their families to three Delaware ponds on Saturday, June 3. There were winners in all three counties.
