DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife announces more Delaware hunting seasons opening in October

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today that additional Delaware hunting seasons are opening this month, including expanded Sunday deer hunting opportunities. Sunday deer hunting is allowed on all Sundays through the end of the deer season on Feb. 3, 2019, using only those hunting methods legal for the respective established deer hunting seasons.




DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: Sept. 24-30

To achieve public compliance with laws and regulations through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Sept. 24-30 made 1,870 contacts with hunters, anglers, boaters, and the general public, issuing 17 citations.




DNREC Division of Parks & Recreation fishing pier in Cape Henlopen State Park to undergo partial repairs beginning Oct. 9

Repair work will be conducted on the Cape Henlopen fishing pier beginning Oct. 9, to replace a pipe below the pier. The pier will remain open for the duration of the project, expected to take three days, weather permitting.




DNREC’s First State Heritage Park ‘First Saturday in the First State’ invites the public to discover a Delaware hero

DNREC’s First State Heritage Park, in partnership with Caesar Rodney High School’s Stage Crew and Thespians, will present a historical theater production for the Park’s monthly “First Saturday in the First State.” A variety of other free events and activities will also be featured throughout the day.




DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation to host ‘Big Truck Day’ at Delaware Seashore State Park Oct. 6

DNREC’s Delaware Seashore State Park will host its first-ever “Big Truck Day” from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Indian River Marina. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of the park’s heavy equipment and special-use vehicles at this family-friendly event.
