(Laurel, DE) In his weekly message, filmed at Laurel Intermediate Middle School in Sussex County, Governor Markell reflects on the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school nearly one year ago and shares progress made in Delaware to keep our schools and communities safer.

“We have no higher responsibility than to provide a secure learning environment for our children and we continue to accelerate comprehensive school safety planning across our state,” said Governor Markell. “By never forgetting the lessons taught in tragedy, and by ensuring our memories compel us to make improvements, we’ll keep Delaware moving forward.”
