Biden, 37 Colleagues Call For Stronger Rule to Protect Consumers Against Telemarketers

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden urged the Federal Trade Commission on Monday to update the agency’s Telemarketing Sales Rule to reflect the realities of today’s marketplace and give consumers more protections against unscrupulous telemarketers.




2014 Delaware Business Licenses expire December 31st

With 2014 State of Delaware business licenses expiring at the end of December, the Delaware Division of Revenue is reminding businesses that they must renew their Delaware business license by December 31, 2014. It is easiest to renew licenses online at www.delaware.gov.

Delaware has set an all-time jobs record according to the Monthly Labor Review released by the Delaware Department of Labor. The 443,700 jobs reported top the previous high mark of 442,300 in February, 2008, prior to the Great Recession.




Support Resources for Patients of Suspended Physician

On November 5, 2014, the controlled substance registration of Patrick A. Titus, MD, was suspended for one year. Under Delaware law, physicians discontinuing business or leaving the State must notify their patients in a daily, local newspaper. This notice must explain how a patient can obtain their records. In preparation for the recent Titus suspension and wanting to increase the opportunity for continuity of care for patients, the Division of Professional Regulation, the Division of Public Health, the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counselling and the Office of Controlled Substances coordinated efforts to notify hospital and community pharmacies, hospital emergency rooms and treatment programs.




Department of Correction launches social media pages

Commissioner Robert Coupe announced the launch of the official Department of Correction Twitter and Facebook pages. These resources have been developed to enhance communication with Delawareans by providing the public with real-time news and information, including time-sensitive notices about offenders and Department facilities, and updates on expanding resources offered to victims, offenders’ families, and others. The sites will also be regularly updated with postings and photos that reflect the wide range of community outreach efforts by Department of Correction staff and community service work performed by offenders.
