A 31-year-old Milford man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a woman in her own home. Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Anderson secured the sentence for Kamau Graves. In October 2018, Graves told the victim he was looking for her boyfriend, and asked to use the bathroom after learning the boyfriend wasn’t there. Once inside, Graves took a knife from the kitchen, threatened the woman with it, and raped her. Graves pleaded guilty in February 2019 to 2 counts of Rape Third Degree and 1 count of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. A Superior Court judge sentenced Graves to 12 years in prison during which time he must complete the Transitions Sex Offender Program, and the Key Substance Abuse Program, followed by 6 years of probation. Graves must also register as a Tier III sex offender and have no contact with the victim. Social worker Carla Ennals assisted with the prosecution.
A Superior Court judge sentenced a 33-year-old Lewes man to prison for sexually assaulting a young girl. In June 2018, Brandon Brennan stayed at a friend’s home because he was too intoxicated to drive home. Sometime during the night, Brennan went into his friend’s child’s bedroom and inappropriately touched her. In March 2019, Brennan pleaded guilty to Unlawful Sexual Contact First Degree. Brennan was sentenced to 1 year in prison followed by 1 year of home confinement, then 5 years of probation. He must also register as a Tier 3 sex offender and receive sex offender treatment, mental health treatment, and substance abuse treatment. Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Anderson prosecuted the case with assistance of social worker Carla Ennals.
