Delaware Fire Marshal's Office Receives 1,100 Smoke Detectors

October 24, 2023

In cooperation with Delmarva Power’s Emergency Services Partnership Program, and Lowe’s of Brandywine Town Center, the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has received over 1,100 10-year lithium-ion battery smoke detectors. This is the 23rd year of this partnership. These smoke detectors will be stocked in all three Agency division offices and distributed to the public at community events Statewide throughout the year.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office reminds all Delaware residents that smoke detectors are required to be installed in every home because properly installed and maintained smoke detectors will save your life!! Tragically this year, Delaware has had 11 fire fatalities. Eight of those eleven victims had no working smoke detectors present in the home.
