Dover, Del. Thursday, November 14, 2024 – Today, the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) recognized mortgage lenders’ remarkable achievements in serving Delaware residents program through the Kiss Your Landlord Goodbye (KYLG).
“Congratulations to the award winners,” said Cynthia Karnai, Director of DSHA. “The housing market provided Delaware significant challenges, from fluctuating interest rates to climbing sales prices. Despite these obstacles, our lending partners demonstrated dedication and passion for helping Delawareans achieve their homeownership dreams. Because of them, Delaware communities are growing, thriving, and more vibrant.”
This is the first year DSHA has held an award ceremony for mortgage lender partners since 2019. Recipients were selected based on their financial output, application quality, and outreach impact in the following categories: Top Lender, Top Realtor, Quickest Loan Delivery, and Lowest Deficiencies.
The following partners were honored during the 2024 Annual Lender Meeting, attended by homeownership organizations and housing advocates.
DSHA also announced a special interest rate discount for qualified veterans who apply for a mortgage between November 1 and November 30. Qualified veterans can receive up to 0.50% interest rate discount on Welcome Home Loans, which can shave hundreds of dollars off their monthly mortgage payment. The veteran must be the borrower and must provide a DD214 to participate.
“This reduced mortgage product is our way of saying ‘thank you’ for their service and dedication,” said Cynthia Karnai, Director of DSHA. “Our veterans and their families are the backbone of our great nation, allowing us to be the home of the free because of the brave. We sincerely thank them, our partners, and staff who work tirelessly to support our community. ”
“Our veterans embody dedication, courage, and the highest ideals of service, and today we celebrate them not only as heroes but as new homeowners,” said Major General Michael Berry, The Adjutant General Delaware National Guard. “May these homes be filled with warmth, pride, and comfort, just as they have brought peace and safety to countless others.”
