Governor Meyer Opens Nominations for The 2026 Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame & She’s on Her Way Awards

WILMINGTON – Governor Matt Meyer and the Office of Women’s Advancement & Advocacy (OWAA) announced today the opening of the nomination process for the 2026 Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and the She’s On Her Way Awards. Nomination forms are available online at de.gov/women. The deadline to submit nominations is midnight on April 2, 2026. 

“Delaware’s history and future are shaped by extraordinary women who lead, serve, and lift up their communities every day,” Governor Matt Meyer said. “The Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and the She’s On Her Way Awards give us the opportunity to recognize both the trailblazers whose legacies endure and the young leaders who are already making a difference. I encourage Delawareans across the state to nominate the women whose impact deserves to be celebrated.” 

Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame 
Established in 1981, the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame, recognizes and acknowledges the lifetime achievements of remarkable Delaware women. The award also fosters an understanding of, and an appreciation for, the many contributions of all women across the First State. Nominees must have resided (or previously resided) in Delaware for at least ten years and have accomplishments that leave a lasting legacy. The Hall of Fame Committee reviews applications and selects inductees annually. The induction ceremony will be held in the fall of 2026. 
As part of the induction celebration, the OWAA continues to commission a watercolor portrait of each Hall of Fame member. The collection of over 170 portraits is currently on display in the lobby of ChristianaCare’s Center for Heart and Vascular Health, located at 4755 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19718. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular business hours. OWAA also created a website featuring the portraits and biographies of all the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame members. 
She’s On Her Way Awards 
The She’s On Her Way Awards, organized by the Delaware Commission for Women, recognizes the achievements and celebrates the contributions of talented young women leaders making a difference in Delaware. All nominees must be young women between 18 and 30 years of age by June 30, 2026. Nominees must be current Delaware residents of at least three years who exemplify integrity, leadership, and a commitment to strengthening their community.  
The Delaware Commission for Women reviews all nominations, selects the award recipients and a celebratory luncheon is held in June. We encourage nominations that reflect the rich diversity of Delaware’s communities and experiences, including individuals from different cultural backgrounds, abilities, professions, and perspectives.
