Dover – Richard H. Lum, age 53, an inmate at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, died in the prison infirmary this morning, December 10, 2014, of natural causes following a lengthy illness. Lum, of Lewes, DE, was serving a life sentence for 1st Degree Unlawful Sexual Intercourse. His sentence effective date was June 9, 1988.
Lum’s body has been turned over to the State Division of Forensic Science, as is standard procedure.
Foul play is not suspected.
