The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal investigated a fire that heavily damaged a single family dwelling structure in Dagsboro, Delaware on December 17, 2023.

The incident, reported shortly after 2:00 A.M. , occurred in the 24000 block of Nine Foot Road, Dagsboro, Delaware. The Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the origin and cause. The fire was determined to be Accidental in nature and was caused by an electrical malfunction. The structure was not occupied at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries to persons or firefighters. Damage is estimated at $350,000.00.
