New Castle, DE – On Thursday, October 1 Delaware Probation and Parole is partnering with state and local service providers to sponsor a Community Resource and Job Fair in New Castle. This free event from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the New Castle County Route 9 Library is open to all members of the community and features a variety of on-site assistance, employment opportunities, information, and resources. The New Castle County Route 9 Library is located at 3022 New Castle Avenue, New Castle.

Free on-site resources will include:
• Meal/food box distribution
• On-the-spot job interviews and hiring opportunities with multiple on-site employers
• Clothing distribution
• Live-action healthy food station
• Giveaways
• and more!

“Our Probation and Parole Officers and staff are committed to serving our neighbors, keeping them safe, and connecting them to resources and opportunities to meet their needs and to be successful,” Department of Correction Commissioner Terra Taylor said. “Whether you are searching for your next job, need help to support your family, or simply want to see what’s available in the community, please stop by and join us.”

This annual Community Resource Event is organized by Probation Officers and staff to serve individuals on probation, their families, and members of the community, particularly in the Wilmington area and along the Route 9 corridor. Officers engaged with participating community partners and employers to bring together a variety of essential services in one location to meet community needs.

The Department of Correction extends a special thank you to New Castle County Libraries and to participating government, community and employer partners, including the Food Bank of Delaware, Delaware Department Health and Social Services, ShopRite, Friendship House, Herr’s, Stanziale Solutions, Beautiful Gate Outreach Center, Harvest Outreach People Project, and Canaan Baptist Church.
