DOVER – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Oct. 9-15 made 1,389 contacts with hunters, anglers, boaters and the general public, including 54 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks, issuing 29 citations.

DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation will hold a live auction for low-digit surf fishing tags at 2:30 pm, Saturday, Oct. 21 at Delaware Seashore State Park. The auction will take place during the third annual “Boo-Que by the Sea,” a two-day barbeque cook-off competition that begins Friday, Oct. 20 at the park.

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today the annual fall trout stocking for White Clay Creek – a DNREC practice since 2007 allowing anglers an opportunity to do some fall fishing in a mellow sporting season.
DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate supports sustainable community planning projects with grant funding for five Delaware cities and towns

DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate has awarded a total of $245,000 in grant funding to the cities of Wilmington and Newark, and the towns of Frederica, Milton, and Fenwick Island through the Sustainable Communities Planning Grant Program. The grants support the creation of local sustainability plans that will ultimately serve over 100,000 Delaware residents. In addition to providing funding, DNREC staff will work with communities, providing technical assistance and guidance throughout the process.
