New TranspARTation Grant Opportunity for Schools

The Delaware Division of the Arts is now accepting applications for TranspARTation Grants— a program developed to assist schools with transportation costs to attend arts and cultural events throughout the state.

Division grants support a variety of projects and programs, from storytelling for preschool reading readiness, to community-based participatory arts, to professional exhibitions and performances featuring local, national and international artists. These grants support arts programming offered by both arts and community organizations based in 23 large and small communities across Delaware.

The title Midway alludes to the space between science and art in which Kelly works as well as the arcade influences from a carnival midway. Kelly is inspired by movement and incorporates elements of amusement, surprise, and entertainment into his paper-based and pop-up sculpture.




Sculptor Harold Kalmus to show work in the Mezzanine Gallery in June

Harold Kalmus will show a variety of his figurative sculpture including large scale portraits, smaller full figure compositions, and figure study reliefs. Described as a “contemporary realist,” his style reflects a mastery of anatomy.
