It’s fee season in Delaware State Parks

Repairs are nearly complete on a 2.5-mile section of the Gordons Pond Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park that had been closed last month due to damage associated with the Jan. 22-24 winter storm that struck Delaware’s coast.

Following a traffic stop for trespassing on a state wildlife area Feb. 26, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police arrested a Felton man at Blairs Pond Boat Ramp in Milford on drug-related charges and multiple warrants.




New Castle angler catches – then releases – new state-record largemouth bass weighing more than 11 pounds

DNREC’s Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police have certified that an 11-pound, 1.6-ounce largemouth bass caught, and released, by Andrew “A.J.” Klein is a new state-record.




The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park to close for 2016 beachnesting season

The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, including a stretch of ocean beach and dunes, and a half mile along the bay shoreline, will close beginning Tuesday, March 1, for the benefit of threatened and endangered beachnesters and migratory shorebirds, including red knot, piping plovers, oystercatchers, least terns and other species.
