Delaware Schools Recognized for Student Success

Smyrna Elementary School and West Seaford Elementary School are among a host of U.S. schools that have been named a 2023 National ESEA Distinguished Schools for the extraordinary success of their students. The National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA), formerly the National Title I Association, has been selecting examples of superior, federally funded school programs for national recognition through the National ESEA Distinguished Schools program (formerly the National Title I Distinguished Schools program) since 1996.




Agriculture, Food and Natural Resource Students Take Home Awards from the Big E

Delaware FFA members from across the state brought home national awards from The Big E in Springfield, MA, last month.




DIAA Names 2022-2023 Dale Farmer State Champions in Sportsmanship Winners

Eleven schools are being honored for sportsmanship this week by the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA).  The Dale Farmer State Champions in Sportsmanship Award is presented annually to schools that have demonstrated a strong school community commitment to the educational nature of interscholastic athletics. 




Two Schools Earn State School Counseling Award

Appoquinimink School District’s Bunker Hill Elementary School and Capital School District’s Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center have earned Delaware’s Sapphire Award for Excellence in School Counseling.




Delaware Announces Seafood Processors Pandemic Response and Safety Block Grant Program

The Delaware Department of Agriculture (DDA) announced they will be distributing $199,600 in relief funds through the Seafood Processors Pandemic Response and Safety (SPRS) Block Grant Program to eligible Delaware seafood processors, dealers, and processing vessels who were financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
