DNREC, Center for Inland Bays to Partner on Water Family Fest and Native Plant Sale Saturday, May 3

DNREC and the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays are partnering again to host Water Family Fest and Native Plant Sale. The family-friendly, free admission event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at James Farm Ecological Preserve, located at 30048 Cedar Neck Road, Ocean View.




Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Weekend Coming to Killens Pond State Park Oct. 4 to 6

Killens Pond State Park in Kent County will be host site for the 2024 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program the weekend of Oct. 4 to 6, DNREC announced, with registration opening Sept. 4. The three-day event is expected to sell out quickly, with registration closing Sept. 18.




DNREC, City of Wilmington Unveil Revamped 7th Street Boating and Fishing Access Area

The 7th Street Boating and Fishing Area on the Christina River has officially reopened to Wilmington’s Eastside community, with DNREC, in partnership with the city, celebrating the $2.9 million project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in John Barbiarz Park, where the popular facility is located.




Kids Invited to Cast a Line at Youth Fishing Tournament

Families are invited to bring their kids out to try casting a line for a big fish in three of the First State’s freshwater public ponds when the Fish and Wildlife Delaware Natural Resources Police hosts its 38th annual Youth Fishing Tournament from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024.




St. Jones Reserve trail reopened

The trail at the St. Jones component of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) near Dover has reopened, with repairs to the trail and boardwalk completed.
