DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announces registration open for Delaware’s mandatory wild turkey hunting courses

With Delaware’s annual wild turkey hunting season approaching, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife Hunter Education Program reminds both resident and non-resident hunters that they must pass a turkey hunting course approved by the Division of Fish & Wildlife before they can legally hunt turkeys in the First State.




DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: Dec. 17-Jan. 6

To achieve public compliance with laws and regulations through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC’s Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers for the three week period between Dec. 17- Jan. 6 made 2,849 contacts with hunters, anglers, boaters, and the general public, issuing 51 citations. Officers responded to 128 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public.




DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation reminds public that dunes in state parks are closed to sledding and snowboarding

DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation reminds residents and visitors that sledding, snowboarding, and other recreational activities are not allowed on Delaware’s dunes.




Kent Conservation District receives Mid-Del Foundation grant to help support Delaware Envirothon

The Kent Conservation District recently received a Mid-Del Foundation grant in support of the annual Delaware Envirothon, an environmental education challenge sponsored by the Delaware Association of Conservation Districts (DACD), in which teams of Delaware high school students compete for scholarships and awards.
