H.B. du Pont Middle School Students Crowned 2026 Solar Racer Champions

A team of students from Henry B. du Pont in Hockessin win first place in the 2026 Solar Racer event held on the campus of University of Delaware in Newark.




Out-of-State Winners Chosen in Delaware Waterfowl and Trout Stamp Art Competitions

Gerald Putt of Boiling Springs, Pa. and Charles Wurst of Fort Wayne, Ind., have claimed blue ribbons in Delaware’s Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp art contests, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today. Mr. Putt’s painting of a Northern Shoveler will be featured on the 2026/27 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp. A painting of a brown trout by Wurst was awarded first place and will grace the 2026 Delaware Trout Stamp.

Two accomplished artists have again won top honors in Delaware’s Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp art contests, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today.

DNREC Secretary Shawn M. Garvin today recognized student winners from throughout the state who won this year’s Earth Day video contest hosted by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.




Delaware State Parks Wins National Competition for Excellence

Gov. John Carney joined Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Shawn M. Garvin today to announce that DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation has won the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) and National Parks and Recreation Association (NRPA) 2021 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.
