Laurel Man Charged with Dealing Child Pornography

Criminal Division | Department of Justice | Department of Justice Press Releases | Date Posted: Friday, February 8, 2013

Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that a Child Predator Task Force Investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography has led to the arrest of a Laurel man.

“It’s a sad fact that every week the investigations conducted by our Child Predator Task Force uncover images and videos that record unspeakable crimes against kids,” Biden said.  “We’ll continue to aggressively go after those who create, possess, and distribute child pornography to hold offenders accountable and reduce the threats to our children.”

The Delaware investigation was initiated following a referral from the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which had linked the online distribution of child pornography to the State of Delaware.  The Delaware Child Predator Task Force continued the investigation, which led to the execution of a search warrant yesterday at a residence in the 12000 block of Whitesell Road in Laurel by Task Force officers, along with Troopers from Delaware State Police Troop #5.  A computer and other digital evidence were seized, and two residents of the home were taken to Troop #5 for further investigation.

A forensic preview of the evidence revealed multiple files containing child pornography, including a video depicting an unidentified young girl, between the ages of 6 and 8, engaged in a sex act with an adult male.  Based on the evidence, detectives arrested Angelo F. Perri, age 48, a resident of the home, and charged him with 11 counts of dealing in child pornography.  Perri was arraigned via videophone by JP Court #2 and was taken to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $660,000 cash bail.
