A Wilmington man has been convicted in a 2023 retail theft.

Bryan L. Brady, 36, was convicted by a Delaware Superior Court jury on felony charges of Shoplifting Over $1500 and Conspiracy Second Degree; both crimes are class G felonies carrying up to two years of incarceration each. His co-defendant, Emily Cullen, 30, resolved her case in 2024 with a plea to misdemeanor Theft Organized Retail Crime.

“The crimes committed by Brady and Cullen were not one-off cases of shoplifting or theft out of desperation,” said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. “This kind of calculated, systemic crime is in a league of its own; it is destructive to society as a whole, to say nothing of those victimized directly. In securing these convictions, the DOJ and DSP have helped make our state a safer place.”

On September 26, 2023, Brady and Cullen entered the Lowes Home Improvement Store in Newark, Delaware, and proceeded to take eight pieces of plumbing equipment and a garbage disposal valued at $1500.

The Delaware Department of Justice remains committed to holding perpetrators of organized retail theft accountable for their actions, which cause serious harm to retailers across the state and negatively impact the shopping experience for law-abiding consumers.
