A 49-year-old Townsend man has pled guilty to robbing a Middletown bank. Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Song secured the plea from Nathaniel Lester with the assistance of social worker Crystal Pitts. Detective Julia Fabbroni of the Middletown Police Department was the Chief Investigating Officer. In November 2018, Lester walked into the Fulton Bank branch in the Middletown Commons Shopping Center on West Main Street, armed with what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded money. A teller put cash and a GPS tracker in a bag, which Lester took. He then fled the bank in a stolen vehicle. Middletown Police tracked Lester to a bus stop a short time later where they arrested him. Lester pled guilty to Robbery First Degree and was immediately sentenced by a Superior Court judge to 3 years in prison followed by 18 months of probation.

A Brooklyn, NY man driving through Delaware with a load of drugs in his car has pled guilty to Drug Dealing Tier 4 Cocaine and Drug Possession Tier 4 Heroin. In July 28, police stopped Daniel Perez, 46, on Sussex Highway in Bridgeville for a traffic violation. During a search of the car police, assisted by a K9 partner, found 2.75 pounds of cocaine and just under .5 pounds of heroin. A Superior Court judge sentenced Perez immediately after his plea to 3 ½ years in prison followed by 18 months of probation. Deputy Attorney General Derek Gay prosecuted the case.
