DOVER – The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, joined by Croda company officials, will hold a meeting Aug. 14 to update the public about actions taken since Croda’s Nov. 25, 2018 accidental ethylene oxide release, and steps moving forward for Croda. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug.14 at McCullough Middle School, 20 Chase Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720.

DNREC confirms finding Asian longhorned tick for the first time in Delaware

The Asian longhorned tick has been found for the first time in Delaware. The DNREC Tick Monitoring program has confirmed that five Asian longhorned tick nymphs – immature ticks – were found in late June in northern New Castle County.

In response to complaints that surf-fishers were not complying with state regulations, DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation Natural Resource Police Rangers performed a three-hour enforcement operation at Cape Henlopen State Park from Navy Beach to Gordon’s Pond on Sunday, July 28th.
