Delaware’s Parks and Recreation Council votes to raise surf-fishing permit fees for 2019 season

Delaware’s Parks and Recreation Council, which advises DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation, today voted to raise surf fishing permit fees this year and to limit the number of permits issued annually to no more than 17,000.

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announces registration open for Delaware’s mandatory wild turkey hunting courses

With Delaware’s annual wild turkey hunting season approaching, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife Hunter Education Program reminds both resident and non-resident hunters that they must pass a turkey hunting course approved by the Division of Fish & Wildlife before they can legally hunt turkeys in the First State.

To achieve public compliance with laws and regulations through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC’s Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers for the three week period between Dec. 17- Jan. 6 made 2,849 contacts with hunters, anglers, boaters, and the general public, issuing 51 citations. Officers responded to 128 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public.
