The companies and officials plan to work together to achieve common goals, including to identify and resolve employment barriers facing people with disabilities, share experience and best practices, raise visibility around the effort and awareness of the significant benefits, and expand participation.

On June 15, 2012 the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation announced that Nemours will receive $3.6 million as part of $1.9 billion in cooperative agreements being awarded to 107 organizations from nearly 3,000 applicants from across the nation. These funds are being awarded to implement projects in communities that will deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), particularly those with the highest health care needs.

The Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF) will be providing additional funding so that positive opportunities for youth will be available at selected community centers in Wilmington for the summer. In addition, DSCYF will provide funding to the city of Wilmington to reinstate last summer’s successful curfew center program.
