Middle School Students Explore Career Technical Education Opportunities at State Conference

Last month the Delaware Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) hosted a middle school state conference that provided students with the opportunity to participate in workshops exploring career technical education opportunities and career technical student organization-aligned competitions.




Postponed: Schools to Recruit Educators at Saturday’s DSU Football Game

Prospective educators will have the opportunity to meet with 14 districts and charter schools during a recruitment fair at Saturday’s Delaware State University football game.

The Delaware Department of Education is sponsoring the event as an opportunity to connect those interested in working in Delaware public schools with potential employers and help diversify the educator workforce in the state. The halftime show also will feature an internship partnership between Caesar Rodney High School and DSU; two former interns are working in Delaware public schools this fall. 




Grants to expand high school career pathways programs

Secretary of Education Susan Bunting today announced more than $458,000 in federal grants to expand high school career pathway programs and to support all youth in their pursuit of college and career-readiness coursework. The statewide Delaware Pathways initiative aims to prepare all students to excel in key industries that offer good jobs in today’s economy.
