Delaware middle school students invited to build and race solar-powered cars in annual Junior Solar Sprint competition

Delaware middle school students are encouraged to test their model car engineering skills and power up their solar panels for the 23rd annual Junior Solar Sprint race – a statewide challenge of creativity, engineering and speed that will culminate Thursday, April 27 with a day of racing at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington.

DOVER – With winter just around the corner, it’s a good time to prepare your home and car for cold weather. You want to stay warm, of course, but that can mean using more energy in your home and more fuel in your car – and having less money in your pocket. To tip that balance more in your favor, DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate offers the following no- and low-cost tips to help you use less energy and save more money this winter and year-round.




Revamped clean fuel vehicle rebates now available from DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate

DNREC’s revamped Delaware Clean Transportation Incentive Program takes effect this week, offering higher rebates for drivers of battery electric vehicles – vehicles which run solely on batteries, using no other fuels – and adjusted rebates for other clean fuel vehicles and electric vehicle charging stations.




DNREC Division of Energy & Climate to launch revamped Clean Transportation Incentive Program

DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate today announced an extension of its popular Clean Transportation Incentive Program in response to Delawareans’ rising demand for cleaner fuel and electric vehicles. The current program will expire Oct. 31. Changes to the program – including updated rebate amounts and modified requirements – will apply to cars and equipment purchased on or after Nov. 1, 2016.




DNREC holding public workshops Sept. 27, 28 and 29 for state’s Clean Power Plan

DNREC’s Division of Air Quality will hold three public workshops later this month to share information with Delawareans on climate change, the EPA’s Clean Power Plan (CPP) and how Delaware plans to comply with it, as well as how to take advantage of grants and other programs offered by DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate.
