Anglers reminded that harvesting river herring is prohibited

DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds recreational anglers and commercial watermen that harvest or possession of river herring, a popular baitfish, is illegal in Delaware. Anglers must have a valid receipt from a state or jurisdiction where harvest is still permitted to possess river herring.

Delaware State Parks Beach Patrol is seeking qualified applicants to fill ocean lifeguard positions at five of Delaware’s premier swimming beaches in Sussex County. Tryouts for interested applicants will be held at the Freeman Fitness Center at Sea Colony in Bethany Beach at 8 a.m. on April 2 and 27.




Lt. Governor Denn Talks with Religious Leaders and Congregations This Weekend

This weekend, Lt. Governor Matt Denn will visit with clergy and church members to continue talking about his Faith, Family & Foster Care Initiative.




March for the Arts in Education Month: Empowering Youth through the Arts

Highlighting the importance of the arts in every child’s education, Governor Jack Markell introduces Empowering Youth through the Arts, a series of videos that document outstanding arts programs being offered in arts organizations and cultural centers across the state.
