2017/18 Delaware Waterfowl and 2017 Trout Stamp winners announced

A painting of canvasback ducks with a Chesapeake Bay retriever by Catherine Temple of Clarkston, Wash., will grace the 2017/18 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp, and a painting of a brown trout by Jeffrey Klinefelter of Etna Green, Ind., will adorn the 2017 Delaware Trout Stamp.




Delaware Waterfowl, Trout Stamp contests set for April 14

Wildlife art enthusiasts, stamp and print collectors, waterfowl hunters, anglers, birdwatchers and wetland conservationists will gather at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the Dover Public Library for the judging of Delaware’s annual Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp contests.

Upstate trout season to open April 2 in six New Castle County streams

Delaware’s spring 2016 upstate trout season will open at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2. Portions of six designated trout streams in northern New Castle County – White Clay Creek, Christina Creek, Pike Creek, Beaver Run, Wilson Run and Mill Creek – will be stocked and ready with thousands of rainbow and brown trout, including some trophy-sized fish.




New Castle angler catches – then releases – new state-record largemouth bass weighing more than 11 pounds

DNREC’s Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police have certified that an 11-pound, 1.6-ounce largemouth bass caught, and released, by Andrew “A.J.” Klein is a new state-record.
