New Delaware record 20.5-pound false albacore taken in Masseys Canyon by Pennsylvania angler

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife has confirmed a new state record in the Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament – a false albacore caught June 29 by a Pennsylvania angler from the fishing boat Get Bent in Masseys Canyon, about 35 miles offshore from Indian River Inlet in the Atlantic Ocean.




Building and Sustaining a Stronger, More Prosperous Delaware: Building:Better Trail Systems

The First State Trails and Pathways Initiative. DNREC and DelDOT worked to create a world-class network of new pathways and trails. In addition to adding 50 miles of new trails and pathways, as a result of the First State Trails and Pathways Initiative, Delaware’s Bike Friendly state ranking rose from 31st nationally to 3rd.

The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), has announced that DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation (Delaware State Parks) is one of four finalists for the 2015 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in the state parks systems category.




Delaware moves up to 3rd best Bike Friendly State in U.S.

Continuing its steady climb to the top, Delaware has once again moved ahead in the rankings of the nation’s most bicycle-friendly states, according to rankings issued by the League of American Bicyclists.
