Wilmington – An investigation by the Delaware Child Predator Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a Townsend man on charges of dealing child pornography, Attorney General Beau Biden announced today.  Harry R. Gosser, Jr., age 34, was arrested on November 29 following the execution of a search warrant at his residence by Task Force and Delaware State Police personnel.

“Thanks to the proactive investigations of the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, criminals learn that their online activity has very real and very serious consequences offline,” said Attorney General Biden.

An online undercover investigation into dealing child pornography led detectives to Gosser’s residence in the 500 block of Oak Hill School Road in Townsend, for which they obtained a search warrant. After executing that warrant on November 29, detectives seized two computers, an external hard drive and other assorted evidence which was taken to the Delaware State Police High Technology Crimes Unit for forensic examination.

Forensic examination of the evidence revealed more than 25 files containing child pornography, including depictions of sexual assault against young children approximately 3 – 4 years old. Based on the evidence Gosser was arrested and charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography. He was arraigned by videophone at J.P. Court #2 and ordered held on $250,000 secured bail. Gosser was then transported to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna.

A booking photo of Gosser is attached.

The Delaware Department of Justice reminds the public that a charge is merely an allegation and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a jury trial at which the State bears the burden of proving each charge beyond a reasonable doubt.
