Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) and Delaware law enforcement agencies statewide will again be toughening up enforcement of Delaware’s distracted driving laws as part of the third and final wave of the Phone in One Hand. Ticket in the Other. campaign to save lives on the state’s roadways. Enforcement will take place statewide from June 4-17.




Governor Signs School Choice Reform, Keeps Pledge from State-of-the-State

After vowing in his State of the State 2013 to address unfair burdens of the school choice system on Delaware families, Governor Jack Markell signed legislation (House Bill 90) today to simplify the application process and help ensure students can attend their chosen school.




DNREC Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Blotter: May 21-28; Reminder for the week: Visitors to C&D Canal area encouraged to observe new rules

To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement agents between May 21 and 28 made 1,936 contacts with anglers, hunters, boaters and the general public, including 295 boating safety/fishing regulation compliance checks. Agents responded to 85 complaints and issued 69 citations, five of which were associated with increased Fish and Wildlife Enforcement presence at the C&D Canal Conservation Area (formerly the C&D Canal Wildlife Area) and the associated recreational trail currently under construction.
