Delaware Report Card seeks feedback to help families access more meaningful education data

The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) is hosting Community Conversations in October to gain feedback on the elements, priorities, and common terminology it plans to include on its upcoming Report Card website. Delaware’s Report Card will refine how DDOE communicates with families and the community its progress, performance, and programs in Delaware education, and replaces the state’s current School Profiles site for accessing education data.
New Delaware Certificate of Multiliteracy recognizes advanced language skills

Delaware has developed a new Certificate of Multiliteracy to honor and recognize students with high levels of language proficiency in addition to English. The certificate applauds students for attaining high levels of language proficiency in multiple languages and also values native language proficiency for the 11,000 English learners in Delaware.
Delaware receives final approval on ESSA state plan

Delaware has received final approval from the U.S. Department of Education (USED) for its Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) state plan, Delaware Secretary of Education Susan Bunting announced today. Today’s ESSA plan approval comes just days after the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) submitted an updated version of the plan to USED to reflect changes based on federal guidance, public feedback and feedback received from the Governor’s Office.
State assessment results show more students proficient in math and English

More Delaware students are participating in statewide mathematics and English language arts (ELA) assessments, and more students are proficient in these subjects, according to preliminary 2017 state assessment results for grades 3 to 8 and high school.
