“We can only reach our potential as a state if we maximize the potential of our people,” said Governor Markell. “While our work toward that goal never ends, we can be proud of the progress made toward that goal during the legislative season that ended this week. By spending taxpayers’ money wisely and keeping our focus on economic opportunity for all of our people, we’ll keep Delaware moving forward.”
After signing a Fiscal Year 2015 budget that fully funded the state’s new urban revitalization program, Governor Jack Markell announced the release of a draft application for cities, towns, and unincorporated areas to be designated among Delaware’s first Downtown Development Districts.
Program highlights include candle-dipping workshops, Nipper the dog and Dutch-American Heritage Day.
Not all DUI’s are a criminal act. Take Dancing Under the Influence for example. Sure it’s not pretty, but it’s also not against the law. Driving Under the Influence, on the other hand, that’s illegal and not worth the risk. That is why the Delaware Office of Highway Safety along with law enforcement across the state are cracking down on impaired driving and launching the 14th Annual Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign this holiday weekend.
Surrounded by lawmakers early this morning, Governor Jack Markell signed a balanced Fiscal Year 2015 budget to cap a legislative session focused on increasing economic opportunity for all Delawareans.
