Charter School of Wilmington wins 2018 Delaware Envirothon competition sponsored by DNREC

GREENWOOD – Charter School of Wilmington Team A was named the champion of the 2018 Delaware Envirothon competition held today at Swartzentruber Farm in Greenwood and sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. Today’s win marks the school’s 19th win in the event’s 22-year history, including an unbroken winning streak since 2002. Charter School of Wilmington Teams’ B and C placed second and third, respectively, in this year’s Envirothon competition.




DNREC announces the Point at Cape Henlopen to close March 1 for 2018 beachnesting season

The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, including a stretch of ocean beach and dunes, and a half mile along the bay shoreline, will close beginning Thursday, March 1, for the benefit of threatened and endangered beachnesters and migratory shorebirds.




DNREC announces new director of the Division of Energy & Climate

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control this week introduced Andrea Kreiner as DNREC’s new director of the Division of Energy & Climate.




DNREC opens nominations for Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act Regulatory Advisory Committee

Nominations are now being accepted for membership on the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act Regulatory Advisory Committee. The committee will comprise 15 to 21 members, representing different stakeholder interests and areas of technical expertise related to Delaware’s Coastal Zone. Nominations are due by March 23.




Final report on forming a regulatory advisory committee and work plan for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits available from DNREC for public review

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today that a final report outlining recommendations for the formation and work plan of a regulatory advisory committee for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits has been completed and is available to the public.
