DNREC announces finalized Coastal Zone Conversion Permit regulations, which become effective Sept. 11

DOVER – Final amendments to the Regulations Governing Delaware’s Coastal Zone, approved Aug. 26 by the Coastal Zone Industrial Control Board (CZICB), have been published in the September Register of Regulations and become effective Sept. 11, 2019, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Shawn M. Garvin announced today. HB190, signed into law by Governor John Carney on Aug. 2, 2017, authorized the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) to issue permits for construction and operation of new heavy industry uses at 14 existing heavy industry use sites within the state’s Coastal Zone.



Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act Regulatory Advisory Committee to meet Nov. 7 in New Castle

The sixth meeting of the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act Regulatory Advisory Committee (RAC) will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, at DNREC’s Lukens Drive Office, Pat Ellis Conference Room and Conference Room B, 391 Lukens Drive, New Castle, DE 19720.



Final report on forming a regulatory advisory committee and work plan for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits available from DNREC for public review

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today that a final report outlining recommendations for the formation and work plan of a regulatory advisory committee for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits has been completed and is available to the public.

A draft report for the formation of a Regulatory Advisory Committee for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits is now available for public review and comment.



DNREC announces initiation of process to develop regulations for Coastal Zone Conversion Permits

Today the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) announced the initiation of the process to amend Delaware Coastal Zone Act regulations to incorporate the provisions of the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act (HB190). Governor John Carney signed HB190 into law on Aug. 2. The Act authorizes DNREC to issue permits for construction and operation of new heavy industry uses at 14 existing heavy industry use sites within the state’s Coastal Zone.
