Trout Stocked in White Clay Creek to Provide Anglers With Fall and Winter Opportunities
DNREC made its annual fall trout stocking in White Clay Creek in northern New Castle County today to provide anglers opportunities to fish upstate Delaware waters for trout during fall and winter. About 1,000 pounds of 12- to 13-inch rainbow trout were stocked in White Clay Creek from near the Pennsylvania state line downstream to Newark.
Out-of-State Winners Chosen in Delaware Waterfowl and Trout Stamp Art Competitions
Gerald Putt of Boiling Springs, Pa. and Charles Wurst of Fort Wayne, Ind., have claimed blue ribbons in Delaware’s Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp art contests, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today. Mr. Putt’s painting of a Northern Shoveler will be featured on the 2026/27 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp. A painting of a brown trout by Wurst was awarded first place and will grace the 2026 Delaware Trout Stamp.

The results are in, and two artists have won top honors in Delaware’s Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp art contests. A painting of a tundra swan by Broderick Crawford of Tiger, Ga., will grace the 2022/23 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp.
