DNREC is seeking to hire two qualified interns to help with agency business process improvement initiatives from the Department’s Lean Management Strategy that is streamlining service delivery to agency customers through new technology and a continuous improvement effort taking place throughout DNREC.




Victim identified from Sunday’s fatal boating accident in Delaware River

The victim in Sunday’s fatal boating accident on the Delaware River has been identified as Frank Montana IV, 40, of Penns Grove, N.J., according to DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police.




DNREC’s final tally: Almost 1,000 volunteers collected more than 17 tons of trash at 26th annual Christina River Cleanup

The numbers are in for the 26th Annual Christina River Cleanup: The nearly 1,000 volunteers who recently turned out for the event collected more than 17 tons of trash from the river and its tributaries, including more than 300 discarded tires, an air conditioner, part of a prosthetic leg, a bucket seat from a van and a cash register box.




DNREC, FEMA to sponsor open house May 23 in New Castle on preliminary flood risk maps for parts of New Castle County

DOVER – DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will hold an open house Tuesday, May 23 about new preliminary flood insurance rate maps for parts of New Castle County. The open house will be held at the William Penn High School at 713 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE 19720 from 4 – 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about proposed flood risk map changes and to understand better how proposed map changes affect their property.
