Department of Correction graduates new class of Correctional Officers

Today, during a ceremony attended by more than 200 family, friends, and state officials, the Delaware Department of Correction marked the graduation of 30 employees who have completed the Department’s Correctional Employee Initial Training (CEIT) program.

Offender flees during weekend pass from work release center

The Delaware Department of Correction announces that an offender has failed to return from an authorized weekend pass issued by the Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington. Repeated and ongoing attempts to make contact have been unsuccessful and at this time the offender’s whereabouts are unknown.




Department of Correction launches social media pages

Commissioner Robert Coupe announced the launch of the official Department of Correction Twitter and Facebook pages. These resources have been developed to enhance communication with Delawareans by providing the public with real-time news and information, including time-sensitive notices about offenders and Department facilities, and updates on expanding resources offered to victims, offenders’ families, and others. The sites will also be regularly updated with postings and photos that reflect the wide range of community outreach efforts by Department of Correction staff and community service work performed by offenders.
