DNREC-sponsored 2016 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program to be held as one-day events Sept. 24 and Oct. 8

Registration is now open for Delaware’s 2016 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes and Saturday, Oct. 8 at Lums Pond State Park in Bear.




DNREC’s inaugural Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Youth Academy introduces students to outdoors law enforcement and lets them see themselves as on-the-job candidates

A full complement of 20 students concluded their week-long training at the Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police’s inaugural Youth Academy with a recognition ceremony held at and hosted by Cabela’s at the Christiana Mall.




Governor Announces USA Funds Grant to Reduce Remedial Education Need

With support of nearly $250,000 from the nonprofit USA Funds, Delaware has launched an innovative effort to ensure more high schoolers graduate ready for college-level English Language Arts (ELA) coursework and not in need of remedial classes that cost money without earning them credits toward a degree.




Grand prize winner and youth finalists announced for DNREC’s 2016 rain barrel art contests

The winners in the Division of Watershed Stewardship’s Rain Barrel Painting Contest have been announced, and are now on display at the Delaware Agricultural Museum.
