Department of Insurance Recovers Nearly $1 Million for Delaware Consumers through June 2015
Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart and the Delaware Department of Insurance announced today that its Consumer Services Division has recovered $995,558.73 for consumers during the first six months of 2015. Delaware employers have also saved approximately $3,978,296.00 in workers compensation premiums during the same period through the Department’s Workplace Safety Program.

Yellow Gas Piping in Your Home May Pose a Safety Risk
The Delaware Department of Insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) are teaming up to educate homeowners on a potential safety risk involving yellow flexible gas piping. The gas piping is known as corrugated stainless steel tubing, or “yellow CSST.”
Insurance Department Posts Health Insurance Rate Requests
The Dept. of Insurance has posted the health insurance rate requests for 2016. The DOI will hold public information sessions on June 15 and June 16, and will accept public comments through July 15, 2015.
