Registration now open for DNREC-organized 2018 Delaware Wetlands Conference

Registration is open now for the 2018 Delaware Wetlands Conference, organized by DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship, to be held Wednesday, Jan. 31 and Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.




DNREC to hold workshops Nov. 29 and 30 seeking public input on Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act regulatory development process

DNREC will hold two public workshops seeking input as it begins the process for developing regulations for the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act, which requires the Department to develop and promulgate regulations for the redevelopment of 14 heavy-industrial use sites in Delaware’s Coastal Zone by Oct. 1, 2019.




Delaware’s Offshore Wind Working Group to hold public workshops Nov. 27 and Dec. 5 in conjunction with DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate

The Offshore Wind Working Group will host public workshops in November and December to gather input about the potential for offshore wind energy and the ways that it might benefit the state.




2017 DNREC’s Delaware Coastal Cleanup drew 1,500-plus volunteers who collected 3.8 tons of trash

This year’s DNREC-sponsored 30th annual Delaware Coastal Cleanup held Sept. 16 drew 1,567 volunteers, who collected 3.8 tons of trash from 47 sites along more than 75 miles of Delaware’s waterways and coastline stretching from Wilmington to Fenwick Island. About one-quarter of that trash was recyclables – mostly aluminum cans and glass and plastic beverage bottles.




DNREC’s 10th annual Blackbird Creek Fall Festival to celebrate Delaware’s natural treasures

DNREC and the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) will showcase one of the most natural areas in Delaware when the 10th Annual Blackbird Creek Fall Festival is held Saturday, Oct. 21 on the Delaware Bayshore Byway.
