DNREC, DHSS to host July 14 public workshop on Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund

DNREC’s Office of the Secretary, Environmental Finance, and DHSS Division of Public Health, Office of Drinking Water, will host a public workshop from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 14, at the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 South Bay Road, in Dover, in preparation for the development of FY 2017 project priority lists for the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Funds.




DNREC produces wetlands report card on Leipsic River Watershed’s health and management recommendations

DNREC’s Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Program announced that its final report on the health of wetlands located in Kent County’s Leipsic River Watershed and Little Creek area – the eighth in a series of watershed-specific wetland health reports – has been given a C+ grade for their current condition, with opportunity for improvement.




DNREC to update community June 19 on Hockessin Ground Water Plume Site investigations

Representatives from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), with support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) will update the public about the contaminated Hockessin Ground Water Plume Site. The update will be held at the monthly meeting of the Greater Hockessin Area Development Association (GHADA) set for 7 p.m., June 19 at Hockessin Memorial Hall, 610 Yorklyn Road, Hockessin, DE 19707.




Public invited to vote online through June 9 for best artwork in DNREC-sponsored rain barrel contests

The public’s art appreciation is sought in voting for favorite entries now online in the 2017 artistic rain barrel contest sponsored by DNREC’s Watershed Assessment and Management Section within the Division of Watershed Stewardship.




Citizens Source Water Protection Committee to meet May 10 in Dover

The Source Water Protection Citizens and Technical Advisory Committee (CTAC) of the Source Water Assessment and Protection Program will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 10 in Conference Room 220 A&B of the Kent County Administrative Offices on Bay Road in Dover.
